BBBL Architects contibutes to the education of futur architects through a scholarship program at the Université de Montréal's faculty of architecture. In the memory of Richard Birtz, architect and founding partner of the firm, who passed away on November 2nd, 2008, BBBL Architectes annually donates a scholarship to recognize the commitment of Richard Birtz to youth and to professional succession. The scholarship is used to support academic activities or is awarded in the form of Memorial Scholarship, according to the guidelines established in conjunction with the University.
The scholarship aims to reward a team of students for the excellence of their academic records and the quality of their joint project. The proposed team project must demonstrate quality and clarity, as well as creativity and esthetic value, pertinence and commitment to sustainable development.
The scholarship was first awarded at the end of the 2008-2009 academic year.
