First established in Terrebonne and later in Montreal, St-Jérôme and Mirabel, BBBL Architectes is a recognized architecture firm that carries out projects all across Quebec. BBBL operates largely in the institutional field, in health care and in education.

BBBL is recognized in particular for:

  • The planning and the construction of large sets of buildings;
  • Elaborating real estate and development master plans;
  • Planning drafts;
  • The preparation of FTPs (functional and technical programs);
  • Using its know-how in executing maintenance projects of real estate assets;
  • Producing plans and specifications and overseeing construction, whether on a traditional contract basis, on a management basis or on a turnkey (design and construction) basis;

The firm becomes Birtz Bastien Beaudoin Laforest architectes with Luc Beaudoin and Benoit Laforest joining.

1997-2000 and 2002-2004
Richard Birtz is president of l'Association des Architectes en pratique privée du Québec (AAPPQ).

The firm becomes Birtz Bastien architectes with Clément Bastien and Philippe Bastien joining.

Richard Birtz founds Viau Birtz architectes.
